NomadiX 2024 Edition [Nomadix Art Tour Project] started on 24 May in Kompong Cham Province, with the first workshop of the season successfully held at Wat Sereisakor Koh Kampong Trom Pogoda in Koh Mit Commune, Kompong Siem District.
The "Art, Community, and Environment" project allows four young female artists - some of them already involved in the previous Nomadix editions - to reach local artists, community leaders, residents, and volunteer trainees through workshops, panel discussions, art installations, performance art, film screenings, and ort exhibitions. Participants are invited to express their inner artistic self, and to showcase their artworks to the community.
With local pagodas and schools actively involved at each stage of their tour, the traveling quartet - artists Sao Srey Mao, Neak Sophal, Mech Sereyroth and Prak Dalin - are now preparing for their second and third workshops, respectively in Kratie province (12 July at Wat Manhjak Thmor Kre pagoda, in collaboration with Thane Ke Nigh School) and in Stung Treng area (15 July at Preah Ko Temple Thale Boravei Commune).
The outcome of these community-meets-art will be later showcased at two major exhibitions, one in Kampong Cham Province on 30 November 2024, and another one in Phnom Penh from 21 February to 3 March 2025.
